New Year's Eve

New Year's Eve found us at the Kalebaugh's house for a fun evening of food, games, and visiting. They invited our church family and some of their relatives. We had games going on all over the place!

"Greedy" at the kitchen table
(Sue and Mark R, Merle D, Dad, Mom, and Dawn D.)
I'm not sure what this one was called, but Reid, Christian, and Jared sure had fun with it on the kitchen floor."Take One" (a scrabble game) in the living room

Mrs. K, Aunt T, Josh, and Drena
Becky challenged Jordan to a game of "Blink" while Gabrielle, Jess, and Rach watched.
As I was taking pictures of everyone, Jamie said, "Take a picture of my foot." Yes, he's a little strange sometimes, but I think that's why he and Jason get along so well. ;-)
Isaac and Jen claimed the upstairs hall for a game of "Stratego".
I think Jason and Kurt were keeping an eye on the kids upstairs.
Jamie and I had to get in on the Scrabble game too.
There were many rousing games of "Pit" played, and I think Jason won 7 in a row! Not fair!
Kaleb wanted to play too, so he helped Crystal.
"Phase 10" on the living room floor
We moved on to "Apples to Apples" after our "Pit" games.
This word describes our church family.
New Year's Eve is Mr. Kalebaugh's birthday, and his family made a chocolate mayonnaise cake to celebrate.
We sang to Jessica as well because her birthday is on New Year's Day. It was fun to wish two special people a "Happy B-day" at the same party--one right before midnight, and one soon after.
Friends--Mel and Beck
The kids and Becky made confetti in preparation for midnight.
Not much left in there, but this person is ready for the countdown.
Happy New Year!

I love the confetti idea ,I think we may have "borrowed" a new tradition.

Yes, the confetti is fun, but just so you know, you spend a while cleaning it up--sweeping, vaccuuming, and picking it up by hand. Our friends find it stuck in furniture or under things months after New Year's. We do it every year though, so they must not mind. =)

Hi Faith! Yes, we do go to Silver Birch Ranch every year. There's a Homeschool Retreat the very last weekend of summer. It would be great if you guys thought about it for this summer!

When were you last there?
