Mel used a picture for the basic idea and shape but added all her own foliage.
While Melody was painting, Amber and I were busy running up and down the stairs measuring and planning where we were going to stencil the Bible verse in Mr. and Mrs. Moeller's bedroom.
It took us quite a few tries to get the font size right, but we finally figured it out.
After we printed the verse on cardstock, we cut out the stencils with exacto knives.
Here are a few close-ups of the finished window.
...and the big picture...
It looked like a real window! The next morning, we were ready to begin the tracing and painting in the bedroom.
We taped all the words together before putting them up on the wall.
The end result...
Shannon was the only one who didn't have a ball that matched him.
He chose a very bright orange! It's a pretty long shot. Can she make it?
This hole was fun. When we first came upon it, we said, "Yeah right!"
We thought you had to make it across that 6 inch wide green in the background there. Mr. Moeller found out the secret from the people ahead of us. If you missed and ended up in the water, you were still okay. Underneath the rock bridge in the foreground was a grate that caught your ball and directed it to the hole on the other side.
This was another creative hole. The green looped around, and if you didn't hit the ball hard enough, you had to shoot it like a pool ball.
As you can see, most of us didn't make it. The water was a really pretty blue-green color.Mel is trying to see the fountain which continues on the other side.
Amber really had to twist our arms to get us to stay another night!
The next morning, we went to some garage sales and found a few treasures, and then Amber took us to Victorian house restaurant for lunch before we headed home.
We were so blessed to spend time with friends and participate in such a neat art project. Thanks for asking us, Amber!
