Crystal's Graduation Party

A week ago, Crystal had her graduation party. It was a really fun day full of many activities. First on the agenda after eating and the diploma presentation/blessing time was a treasure hunt for the kids. This clue was buried in the sand of the volleyball court.
It was a very hot day, but the kids still ran all over the campground finding the clues.

The treasure chest!
Dividing up the loot.
While the kids were on the treasure hunt, some of were busy setting up for the Olympics. Drena D. had her son Reid studying about the Olympics and thought it would be fun to have a mini-Olympics for ourselves. Reid read some of the information he learned, and then Andrea and Bethy Joy H. decided to do some warm-ups; they dropped to the ground and began doing push-ups. How cute!
Jason carried the torch and passed the flame to Becky for the opening ceremony while the trumpets played.
Like our circles?
We used crepe paper stretched between chairs for our hurdles.
Christian L. and Zoe Z.
We had different age groups, and Crystal won the gold in the older girl category.
Spectators and judges
Long jump was next, and we had a crew brushing out the sand and measuring the jumps.

I love Jason's expression. This picture brings to mind some kind of acrobat or ballet dancer!
The older guys could jump so far!
Dad
Zeb Z.
Jordan L.
We used water balloons for the shot put.
Gabrielle L.
Tosca W.
The discus was our last event for the day because we ran out of time to do the 4-man relay.
Hiram wanted to get in on the discus throwing.
Our homemade medals

The 4-7 age group.
Adrian L.
8-10 year olds
11-14 champions
Becky and Bristol were needed elsewhere by the time we were giving out medals, so Crystal had her arms be the people in their place.
The girls group
...and the guys. Is Dad too old for this stuff? The Olympics were a blast!
The 1st annual Sugar Fest was that night. There were so many entries that the judges really had their work cut out for them.
Some of the yummy goodies!
I haven't played carpet ball all summer and decided I needed to get a couple games in before it turns cold. Reid and Rachel were willing to come play me.
Yancy W. checking out how this game works.
The sunset that evening was gorgeous!
Quite a few of us liked the reflection on the lake and decided we needed some pictures of it.
We roasted hotdogs over the fire for supper that night, but I don't think many people were hungry after all the desserts.
Zoe, Crystal, Reid, and Mr. Holverson
Me and my sis
Wolfgang and Lauren welcomed us all to their RV site for the fire. Jason played his guitar and we ended our evening with songs.
While we were on our way home, we drove through a town that was having their annual festival. We were just in time to see the end of the fireworks.
They were shooting them off right over our heads, so we had to pull over and watch the finale!
It was a fun ending to the day!

Sister Michelle, I love the short hair cut! Jason and Dad might have been having the most fun. I can't believe you even had hand crafted metals. Thanks for sharing all the fun!
