Clean Freaks, Beware!!!

For any of you out there who are clean freaks--Beware!
This post contains pictures that may upset you and your highly developed need for cleanliness!
Read on at your own risk!

These pictures are actually from the spring of '07, but we didn't have a blog then. I didn't think that should stop us from posting them now. After all, it's part of Hemmer history!
One Sunday after church, a game of football was started. The snow had melted turning the patch of dirt in the playing field into mud--hence, the messy players.

Jamie, Gabrielle, and Jason are still fairly clean at this point. Instead of avoiding the mud patch, they decided to move their game to include it.

Notice the flags from the first picture are gone as well. I think it became a game of tackle football instead of flag.

The next to go was the football. The mud was too big of a draw. Who needs a football as an excuse to tackle someone? If we had to vote on someone in our church who is a kid at heart, I think it would probably be unanimous. Dawn is game for just about anything, so when the kids dragged her into the mud, she didn't really protest. Melody and I made sure they knew we were off limits since we had cameras in our hands. Boy, was I glad for an excuse! Gab, Christian, and Zoe were soon chasing after Kurt, ...but the guys had to help them out. Kurt returning the favor to his son, Christian... Reid Jess was next! Not even her husband-to-be had sympathy on her!The mud was freezing from the melted snow, but that didn't stop them from sitting in it and rolling around. Pyramid time

Does that smile mean something, Jordan?
Ah hah! You were plotting to drop the girls in the mud!
I think Jamie is having fun.
A bit cold, Jess?

Best friends
A cute couple!
When everyone arrived back at the store, Isaac took one look at them and decided he couldn't miss out on this wonderful opportunity to get dirty and not get in trouble!
He plopped himself down on the road and rolled over and over again!
Eventually, it was time to head over to the bathrooms to clean off. Most of them just stepped into the showers clothes and all to rinse off. Some of them had a clean change of clothes, but others had to raid the lost and found box. I wish I had pictures of that! They looked really funny in their mis-matched, ill-fitting outfits!
I'd have to say that life is never dull at The Refuge with this group of friends!

Do you feel the need to go take a shower or bath now? *wink*
